The prophets say God’s love is conditional, but they can’t say ‘I’m sorry’

April 21, 2022April 21, 2022

Kimberly Applewhite Teitter, a Black Latter-day Saint, says she doesn’t need anyone to apologize for policies that kept Black members from temple rituals or Black men from having authority to serve as leaders and baptize their own children. Her testimony is hers, and it doesn’t depend on anyone else, not…

Yes, I left because I was offended.

A few months after my husband and I moved from Arizona to North Dakota, but before we had officially resigned our membership, the Mormons tracked us down, as they are famous for doing. (FSM help any Mormons who need to enter the witness protection program.) I wasn’t home when they…

Feeling Spiritually Defrauded By Spiritual Fraudsters (Unrighteous Dominion)

December 24, 2025

I didn’t leave the COJCOLDS because I felt deceived when I learned the truth about church history. For one thing, I grew up knowing a lot about church history because it was also my family history. When I was little, we used to go to family reunions for all the…

The context of the video is the website Understanding LDS Homosexuality.

    Interviewer sounded like John Dehlin?

The “tastes like squash” part was pretty funny. Well, the cat’s partly out of the bag now. The church squeezes tighter and thing just gets bigger and bolder.

My prediciton: epic fail for the church all around.

Yes, the squash part was kind of funny. Kind of. Carolyn was definitely holding back on that question. I just imagine what it would be like if I had to pretend to be gay and have sex with another man.

I am glad that Gordon Hinckley put an end to the practice of requiring gays to marry straights. Every little bit of realism can go a long way.

Speaking of realism, I always considered it a strong suit that Mormonism rejected celibacy. That’s the reason why last instruction to returning missionaries is to get married with all deliberate speed.

But when it comes to gays, suddenly celibacy is supposed to work.

Sorry about the trouble, Kullervo. And thanks for the heads up.

I just played the movie successfully. Jonathan’s link worked as well. May be, it was a temporary glitch at the server or with youtube.
