Sunday in Outer Blogness: Late and Lite Edition!

chanson, June 5, 2011July 5, 2011

Hey folks! We had some sort of European holiday here, causing a long weekend, prompting a family visit to some other randomly-chosen-picturesque-European city — and I thought I’d be back in time to do SiOB on Sunday itself, but it didn’t happen. I saved up links all week, though, so let me do a bit of a short-and-sweet edition this morning:

First off, creepy guys! This innocent observation about lack of curiosity led to a hilarious link about the literary genre “Fond Memories of Vagina”.

OK, enough bullying.

The Olympics are off to an interesting start (not to mention other sports controversies), and the US presidential circus is warming up as well!

In history — ever wonder about the prayer circle? In theology, are mainstream religions really less “crazy” than religions like Mormonism?? Why not try applying Biblical morality in modern times and find out! Apparently people are already bored of this question. And we have some difficult questions about loving your neighbor.

Next, we have some positive personal stories (and on the flip side passive-aggressive prayers) — plus a whole new reddit just for exit stories!!!

Now, according to my calendar, yesterday was “Vatertag”. Was it also Father’s Day in your country? If so, I hope all you dads out there had a great day!!! And I hope the rest of you did something special for the dads in your life — if not, do something special for them today! And have a great week!

This past week, Andrew S. tackled the question of why he sticks around Internet discussion groups on the fringes of Mormonism — a familiar topic for many of us in this space, and his answer is very similar to my own. It seems that for groups discussing Mormonism, it’s nearly…

Sunday in Outer Blogness: Atheists in SLC edition!

April 20, 2014

I know what you’re thinking: since it’s Easter, this edition should be something Easter-related, right? But let’s face it — Mormons care so much about Easter that sometimes they aren’t even aware that it’s happening. Fortunately, this year LDS Inc. is astroturfing a slick Easter video so that at least…
