Domain name warning

chanson, October 22, 2013October 22, 2013

Some of you may have noticed that this blog’s old domain name “latterdaymainstreet.com” isn’t working. I changed the primary domain name for this blog to “mainstreetplaza.com” last year and configured the “latterdaymainstreet.com” domain name to redirect to “mainstreetplaza.com”. Now it appears that the ownership of “latterdaymainstreet.com” lapsed and some unknown person or group grabbed it. I didn’t get a notification because I didn’t own it — in 20/20 hindsight, I see I should have been careful to back-order it. Hopefully, whoever bought it will be kind enough to sell it to me…

Anyway, please update any links you may have: “latterdaymainstreet.com” => “mainstreetplaza.com”, and if anyone you know mentions that they can’t find the site anymore, please tell them where it is — Thanks!

Hi Everyone, In order to implement a new feature request we had to upgrade MSP to a new theme. It’s not all that different from the old one; we know how everyone on here hates change! 😉 Anyway, the new feature request is related to the comments. You should now…

Sorry about the down time!

February 6, 2016

The good news is that Main Street Plaza is up and running on the new server! The current look-and-feel is temporary. I still have all of the old user-interface files, but I’ve been dragging them along from one server to the next since this blog started in 2007. I figured…

Let’s imagine that the Church bought it as an attempt to put a wedge in our apostate, heretical and blasphemous practices.

That’s my fault. Since the other name was in use, I cancelled the old one.

    Pardon me.

@2 True — since the new name is in use, we don’t really need the old one. But since there are probably lots of old links pointing to the old one, it would be better if I could continue to redirect it, but it’s not a big deal.

Also note: I wrote to the More Good Foundation, and they said that they did not buy the domain name. So maybe it’s some kind of crazy error or some kind of spam site or something…

So long as you’re on a housekeeping topic, I had a question regarding Outer Blogness but would rather ask in private. Is there a good way to get in touch with you that doesn’t involve a public post?

Yes, absolutely. Email me: chanson dot exmormon at gmail dot com.

Note to all: If the link to your site in Outer Blogness needs to be updated, or if I’m missing a site that I should have listed, etc., please write me, and I’ll fix it up. 😀

Update: It looks like I got the old Latterdaymainstreet.com domain name back!

It was pretty surprising. After it went missing, I back-ordered it (figuring I was just wasting $20, but why not give it a shot…?) — and I just got notification the other day that it worked. So now the old latterdaymainstreet.com URL redirects to mainstreetplaza.com, as it had been doing all last year. In particular, old links to us are back in business, etc.
