Wow! Three wins and nominate in four categories! I’m very flattered. I’m grateful for everyone’s support and I hope to earn your readership this year as well at the SHAFT blog (though I haven’t been terribly prolific that past few months).
I had some very stiff and impressive competition, especially in the Religion and Orientation category–it was sooo close! I want to give a special shout out to Sulli’s post “I will not be someone else’s ‘sin’: http://weweregoingtobequeens.blogspot.com/2011/04/i-will-not-be-someone-elses-sin.html
I won by the narrowest margin over that post. It’s a favorite of mine, though, and I’m glad that it received a lot of attention and well-deserved recognition.

Kiley — I didn’t look at the results at all the whole second week (because I decided I wanted to be surprised), and I have to admit I was surprised and disappointed to see that you didn’t get one. (Since there were so many amazing nominees, I have to admit that there were a handful of posts I was secretly rooting for that didn’t win…). But given the quality of your work, you’re sure to get one next year!
MSP is a wordpress blog. What I do is save images to the media library and then edit the widgets.
I was surprised and disappointed that one of Kiley’s posts didn’t win as well. That’s to say nothing bad about the posts that won over hers, but still–she does quality work that deserves to be recognized. There’s always next year, and you’ll have my vote!
Admittedly, the SHAFT posts have a slight advantage in that the site is a student group site and it’s easy to call upon members and ask them to vote. I asked much of the group to vote in the contest, and they came through in the last couple of days. Weird that a group of self-professed freethinkers would vote en masse and as a block. Ha ha. 😉
